Pappas wins support from over 70 NH Business Leaders

Manchester, N.H. – Today Chris Pappas announced the “Business Leaders for Pappas” advisory group. The group includes more than 70 business leaders from across the First District who are publicly supporting Chris’s campaign for Congress. These business leaders represent a variety of industries including manufacturing, technology, hospitality, and more. Chris co-owns the Puritan Backroom, a 101-year old family restaurant business in Manchester. The advisory group members own companies in thirty communities across the districts.

“As a restaurant owner who employs more than 230 people, I know the challenges New Hampshire small businesses face and how our representatives in Washington can help them succeed,” said Executive Councilor Chris Pappas. “New Hampshire small businesses face pressing issues such as the current shortage of skilled workers and a lack of affordable workforce housing. I’m running for Congress to give every hardworking New Hampshire family a fair shot and create an economy that truly works for everyone. That’s why I’m proud to have the support of so many of the business owners I’ve known and worked with over the years. I will always fight to advance the interests of small businesses and the workers that keep them going.”

"As a small business owner himself, I know Chris understands the issues facing New Hampshire businesses,” said Rob Pruyn of Rochester, President of The Rubber Group. “Finding workers has been a significant challenge, and it’s one Chris understands. In Congress, Chris will fight to implement the type of job training programs that give New Hampshire workers the skills to earn good-paying opportunities and create an economy that works for everyone.”

“As a lifelong Granite Stater, small business owner, and proponent of women's rights, I endorse Chris Pappas because he has proven his values time and time again,” said Erin Allgood of Dover, Principal Consultant at Allgood Eats Local. “Chris understands the importance of looking out for his employees and has long supported them by paying livable wages and providing benefits like health insurance and paid time off. As a small business owner, he signed onto the Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy. As an Executive Councilor, he helped restore funding to Planned Parenthood  to protect women's access to health care across the state. I know Chris represents my values, and I look forward to seeing him take those values to Washington".

“The lack of affordable housing available to workers is a huge barrier to retaining the vital workforce our business community needs to succeed,” said Dave Jensen of Conway, owner of Lupine Pet. “It’s also incredibly important to make sure workers are able to live in the communities where they work. Chris wants to invest in workforce housing to give businesses and individuals increased opportunity and help make New Hampshire’s economy work for everyone.”
